Gabrielle Ray – The Liverpool Journal of Commerce – Saturday 10th April 1920

Probably the most photographed beauty of her time and dubbed the picture post-card queen, Gabrielle Ray is the Liverpool Hippodrome’s star next week. Assisted by Leslie Barker and some charming little girls, Miss Ray is a sheer delight in dainty and artistic scenes. England’s representative illusionist, Oswald Williams is also programmed, and some very smart and interesting illusions will he contributed by Mr. Williams. The root of all evil will be dispensed with alarming prodigality by Barton and Ashley, in their financial fun feast, “Money Talks.” One of Liverpool’s native sons, Gus Harris, the splendid voiced Hebrew comedian, has new comedy songs, while at the piano will be Willie Rouse in songs and funny stories. G. K. Melvin, a versatile Scot, in smart songs and dances, Lauri de Vine, a clever girl contortionist, dancer, and pianists, will complete the bill.
