THE SHOOTING GALLERY.

Targets representing celebrities, political and social, were used at the shooting gallery, which was under the direction of Miss Alexandra Carlisle and Mr. Guy Standing, assisted by Misses Beatrice Ainsley, Evelyn Beaumont, Pauline Chase, Lily Elsie, Grace Lane, Gertie Millar, Unity More, Madge Murray, and Gabrielle Ray; Messrs. Henry Ainley, Harry Gerrish, Robert Loraine, Charles Maude, Gerald Du Maurier, Richard Neville. A unique attraction was the competition for a silver challenge cup, value £25, by representatives of the several theatres, and the interest in the trial of skill lastea throughout the afternoon. The cup was won by Mr. Gerald Du Maurier.

    • Thank you, that was interesting, Trilby is free on Kindle so I now have a copy, the origin of the name of the hat was interesting and I really liked the watch

  3. Tessa, the lady who wrote the post is a remarkable woman, she is an absolutely incredible poet. She left the wordsmiths to start a poetry group and has published one book of poems, you might recognise the place the photo was taken from on the cover.
