I visited Gabrielle Ray’s grave again this week only to be disappointing yet again that the promised restoration has not started despite the offer of funds to bring about a fitting memorial; someone wrote that hope is nothing without the individual taking direct action to affect change, however, sometimes direct action just isn’t enough :-/

The Dollar Princess (Rotary 11569 G)

The Dollar Princess is a musical in three acts by A.M. Willner and Fritz Grünbaum (after a comedy by Gatti-Trotha), adapted into English by Basil Hood (from the 1907 Die Dollarprinzessin), with music by Leo Fall and lyrics by Adrian Ross. It opened in London at Daly’s Theatre on 25 September 1909, running for 428 performances. The London production starred Lily Elsie, Joseph Coyne and Gabrielle Ray as Daisy.
