During her eraly years Miss Ray performed under the name of Bessie Ray appearing in Paul Valentine’s “Ballets at Blackpool” as the “Rose Queen” “(Little Bessie Ray) entres with her attendants and the villagers, and is crowned by the Squire’s mother (Miss Jenny Summers)” (page 2). The second ballet “Carnival Electrique” and sees the “Poodles Polka by the juvinal ballet is a popular item, and brings little Bessie Ray (the clown) a recall.” (page 3).
